LG MOBILE CONTROL FOR IPHONE

Privacy policy.

Effective: 9 September 2026 · Last updated: 11 September 2026

Your TV data stays at home.

The app connects your iPhone directly to your TV. Saved TVs stay on your iPhone, and pairing credentials stay in its Keychain. The app sends no TV data to polysign and contains no advertising, analytics or cloud account.

Visiting this website or contacting support involves separate processing, explained below.

1. Publisher and scope

LG Mobile Control is published by Georges Jentgen, trading as polysign, in Luxembourg. Georges Jentgen is the controller for personal information processed for this website and support. Contact georges@polysign.lu about this policy or a privacy request.

This policy covers the iPhone app, its app-specific pages on polysign.lu and related support. It describes version 1.1.0, currently being prepared for App Store review. LG Mobile Control is independent software and is not affiliated with LG Electronics. Your television, Apple services and streaming providers have their own privacy practices.

2. Data on your iPhone

Saved TVs and preferences
TV and room names, local IP addresses, discovery identifiers, model information, optional wake MAC addresses, connection preferences, favorite TVs and favorite TV app identifiers. These let you recognize and reconnect to your TVs. The app also saves your selected TV, whether setup is complete and whether it has requested local network access.
Pairing credentials
The pairing key issued by your TV and its trusted certificate fingerprint let the app reconnect to an approved TV. These are stored separately in the iPhone Keychain.
Temporary discovery and TV status
Nearby device advertisements, available TV apps, current volume, mute state, foreground app, channel and model or software information may be held in memory to show search results and the remote interface. The app does not build a viewing-history record.

Saved TV records are kept in protected app storage and excluded from device backups. Pairing credentials use device-only Keychain storage, accessible while the iPhone is unlocked, and do not synchronize through iCloud.

3. Local network access

With iOS Local Network permission, the app uses Bonjour to discover devices advertising AirPlay on your home network. It reads advertised device names and manufacturer or model information, resolves local IP addresses and displays matching LG TVs. Search results remain in memory until you add a TV, which saves its local record. Searching does not pair with a TV or send remote-control commands.

When you select and pair a TV, the app sends commands and receives TV status directly over your local network. No polysign server or cloud relay receives those exchanges. The current iPhone build does not support network wake.

You can change Local Network permission in iPhone Settings at any time. Without it, discovery and TV control are unavailable; the app’s demo remains available. The app does not request access to your precise location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.

4. Security

The app uses iOS file protection and Keychain storage. Secure TV connections are the default, and saved certificate fingerprints help detect a changed TV certificate. If you explicitly enable a legacy unencrypted connection for a TV, commands and pairing information travel without transport encryption on your local network. Use that option only on a network you trust.

No storage or network connection can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not send pairing keys or passwords to support, and verify that an address belongs to your TV before trusting a changed connection.

5. Collection and sharing

The app does not transmit your saved TVs, pairing keys, remote commands or TV status to polysign. It contains no advertising, analytics SDK, third-party crash-reporting SDK, subscription system or cloud synchronization. No app account is required. We do not sell app data or use it for advertising or profiling.

Your selected television receives the commands necessary to operate it. Apple may separately process distribution, device or diagnostic information according to your settings and Apple’s privacy policy. TV services and streaming apps may collect information under their own providers’ policies.

6. Retention and deletion

  • One TV: In My TVs, open its settings and choose Forget TV. This removes its saved record, pairing key and trusted certificate.
  • All local app data: In Settings, choose Reset all app data to clear saved TVs, preferences and app-owned Keychain entries.
  • Before uninstalling: Use the reset control when possible. Deleting an iPhone app does not reliably remove its Keychain entries.
  • On the TV: Local deletion does not necessarily revoke the TV’s saved remote authorization. Remove it in the TV’s paired-device settings where supported.

Saved records remain until removed. Temporary discovery and status data is not saved as a history and does not survive termination of the app. polysign cannot retrieve or remotely delete records held only on your iPhone.

7. Website visits and support

App website. These pages use Google Firebase Hosting. The hosting provider processes IP addresses and request metadata to deliver content and protect the service. Firebase states that Hosting retains IP data for a few months. These app-specific pages add no analytics, advertising, tracking scripts or cookies. The main polysign homepage has a separate optional analytics choice.

Support. If you email us, we receive your email address, message and attachments. If you use the main website’s contact form, the name, email address and message you provide are forwarded through SendGrid to the support mailbox. We use this information to answer and investigate your request. Supplying it is voluntary, but we need a reply address to respond. Please send only what is necessary.

Retention. Correspondence is retained for handling the request and relevant follow-up. Retention depends on whether the issue remains open, continued correspondence and any applicable legal obligation or dispute. You can request deletion by email.

Service providers and international processing. Hosting and email delivery involve providers operating internationally, so website and support information may be processed outside the European Economic Area. This does not transfer the TV records stored only on your iPhone. Details of provider processing and transfer safeguards are available in Firebase’s privacy information and Twilio’s privacy notice for SendGrid. Contact us for information about the handling of your support request.

9. Your rights and privacy requests

For personal information we hold, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, where applicable. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. We do not make automated decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects.

Email georges@polysign.lu. We normally respond within one month and explain any lawful extension. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. You may complain to Luxembourg’s National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD) or your local supervisory authority. Read more about your GDPR rights.

10. Changes to this policy

We update this page and its “Last updated” date when data practices change. Material changes, including new remote collection, will be explained before the relevant functionality is introduced. You can always reach this policy from the app’s Settings and its website.
